Hines Ward is a former professional football player who played fourteen seasons in the National Football League for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was named Super Bowl 40 MVP and a four-time Pro Bowl selection.

Ward was instrumental in the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLIII victory over the Arizona Cardinals, blocking a key Santonio Holmes run and catching a game-winning 43-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.
He signed a six-figure contract when he first joined the Steelers. In 2001, he updated it for inflated growth. His new deal would see him make more than $10 million over four years.
He eventually signed a $22 million contract with the Steelers that included a $3 million bonus. Ward earned $39 million in his 14 professional football seasons in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected the player in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft. As a rookie, he made a significant impact, catching 59 passes for 763 yards and five scores.
Ward had his best season in 2002 with 112 catches for 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named the NFL Receiving Yards leader and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
He had another outstanding year in 2003 with 95 receptions for 1,180 yards and 11 touchdowns and was selected to the NFL All-Pro First Team and the Pro Bowl for the second straight year.
Ward’s output began to decline in 2004, although he still caught 80 passes for 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns and earned his third straight Pro Bowl selection.
