Diablo 4’s global release has been quite a success, and fans of the franchise are having a great time exploring the open world of Sanctuary in the latest entry. While slaying hellhounds has never felt so good to many, some members of the community aren’t having such a fun time completing some of the in-game content.
@BlizzardCS: @Diablo: It seems that if you kill Astaroth (?) too soon, it errors out and won’t give you the quest credit and won’t let you teleport. https://t.co/jHTb2fNVMU
This is due to several performance issues that Diablo 4 left behind, with one of the most annoying being the “Entire party must be present and alive” error that occurs immediately after defeating Astaroth.
Astaroth is one of the toughest enemies you’ll face in Act 2, and once the bug hits, you won’t be able to continue the story and will be stuck there.
Restarting the game will force you to fight Astaroth again, making this bug extremely annoying. So, you can try a simple trick to fix “Entire party must be present and alive” error in Diablo 4.
Fix for “Entire party must be present and alive” Astaroth bug in Diablo 4
In order to overcome the “Entire party must be present and alive” error in Diablo 4, all you need to do is teleport from the location to a nearby town and then back again to the boss stage.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the Sanctuary map and select the nearest city whose waypoint you activated. After that you have to fast travel to get there.
- Don’t leave the area once you’re in town or it will close the portal. Now interact with the teleport portal you used and return to the boss stage.
- This method seems to have worked for many in the community and is worth a try when dealing with the “Entire party must be present and alive” error in Diablo 4.
- Alternatively, you can press the down button on the D-pad to travel directly to Kyovashad, then use the portal to make your way back again.
When does the “Entire party must be present and alive” error occur in Diablo 4?
The Astaroth fight might be the only time the error occurs. While that is where most of the community is experiencing the issue, the error can also appear during any boss fight or World Boss event.
This can occur if you’ve completed a quest in a group or alone, and even appear if every member of your party is alive or dead. Fortunately, the fixes for each instance will be to fast travel in and out of the area.
It’s a performance bug that we hope Blizzard will address in future updates.
