Description
Delightful homemade cinnamon rolls that are warm, sweet, and comforting, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix in the flour gradually until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it evenly over the buttered surface.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice it into rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
- Let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth for the glaze. Drizzle it over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Make sure your milk is warm, but not too hot, to activate the yeast properly. Knead the dough well for fluffy rolls.
