Description

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
  • Fresh strawberries, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
  5. Beat the cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix.
  6. Whip the heavy cream and vanilla in another bowl until soft peaks form, then fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Assemble the cake by placing one layer of chocolate cake on a serving plate, spreading a cheesecake layer on top, then adding another chocolate cake layer, repeating, and finishing with the last layer of cake.
  8. Decorate the top with fresh strawberries. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For added flavor, consider drizzling chocolate syrup on top. Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps.
