  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (such as parsley, rosemary, or thyme), chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as mozzarella or cheddar)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread minced garlic, fresh herbs, and shredded cheese evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly to form a log and slice it into rounds.
  8. Arrange the rounds in a greased baking dish.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with marinara sauce or garlic butter for dipping. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
