- 2 cups pretzels, crushed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
- 2 packages (3 oz each) strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup of sugar in a medium bowl. Press this mixture into the bottom of an 8×8-inch pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth in a large bowl. Fold in the whipped topping and spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
- Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water in another bowl. Stir in the sliced strawberries after it has cooled slightly and then pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
Use fresh strawberries for a more vibrant flavor. Allow the salad to chill overnight for the best results.
