Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.
  3. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Place the cream cheese mixture in the center of the pastry, leaving space on the sides.
  5. Cut slits on the sides of the pastry for braiding.
  6. Fold the strips of pastry over the filling, alternating sides to create a braid.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden color.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to enjoy warm.
