Description

Easy honey BBQ chicken rice with tender chicken pieces, barbecue sauce, honey, rice, and green onions.


Ingredients

1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 cup barbecue sauce

1 tablespoon honey

2 cups cooked rice

2 tablespoons chopped green onions, optional


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until golden and nearly cooked through.
  3. Add barbecue sauce and honey, stirring to coat the chicken.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Spoon the honey BBQ chicken over warm cooked rice.
  6. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

Use warm cooked rice so the meal comes together quickly. Add a splash of water if the sauce gets too thick.
