- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce to the meat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix ricotta, egg, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, and cheese mixture in a baking dish, repeating layers.
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake covered with foil for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
