- 8 oz pasta (your choice: penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 1 lb ground beef (lean, 90/10 or 85/15)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the creamy beef sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is melted and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the creamy high-protein beef sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If needed, return to low heat for a minute to warm everything through.
- Serve the creamy beef pasta in bowls. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy your delicious, high-protein meal!
