Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  8. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
  9. Top with mozzarella slices and fresh basil leaves.
