Description

Thick creamy banana pudding layered with ripe bananas, vanilla pudding, and vanilla wafers.


Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 package vanilla wafers

Optional: whipped cream for serving


Instructions

  1. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan.
  2. Gradually whisk in whole milk.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Cool the pudding slightly.
  6. Layer pudding, sliced bananas, and vanilla wafers in a serving dish.
  7. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
  8. Top with whipped cream and extra banana slices if desired.

Notes

Let the pudding thicken fully on the stove so the dessert sets cleanly after chilling.
