Description

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan. Gradually stir in the milk.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and bubbles.
  3. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
  4. Allow the pudding to cool slightly, then layer it with sliced bananas and vanilla wafers in a serving dish.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 120 minutes before serving.
  6. Top with whipped cream and additional banana slices if desired.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh, ripe bananas. Can be made a day in advance for improved taste.
