Why is this cricketer the frontrunner to be named as Rohit Sharma’s deputy in the WTC final? |: WTCFinal2023

Xtra Time Web Desk. If all goes according to plan, India’s middle-order player Cheteshwar Pujara will be named as the vice-captain for the upcoming Test World Cup 2023 final. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team against Australia for the WTC Final 2023 from June 7-11 at The Oval.

Pukhara was the vice-captain in the last two test matches against Australia at home. He was in great form in the Sussex County Championship, having already scored three hundreds. Pujara has scores of 115, 35, 18, 13, 151, 136 and 77.

It has been learned that the Surashtra batsman will take a break for a few days after his county stint in Sussex before joining the India camp.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to send a batch of players to the UK. The support staff, led by head coach Rahul Dravid, will leave early on May 23. Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar are likely to be on the same flight to London.
