Enyimba striker Emeka Obioma has admitted that he and his teammates are envious of Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten run and have done everything possible to end it.
Bendel recorded their third draw in the NPL playoffs after holding Enyimba to a 1-1 draw in the third leg of the NPL Super Six playoffs on Wednesday.

Enyimba took the lead on 23 minutes through Sadiq Abubakar whose left-footed curler ended up in the top corner.
But Insurance equalized on 37 minutes thanks to Divine Nwachukwu’s header.
This was their third meeting of the season against Bendel Insurance, who recorded a win and a draw in their previous two matches.
The draw means that Bendel Insurance are yet to taste defeat this season and have gone 21 games unbeaten.
Speaking after the match, Obioma welcomed the Peoples Elephant into the game to end the unbeaten run.

“We wanted to end their unbeaten run because we’re jealous of it, but it is what it is, there’s nothing we can do but luckily we just have to keep working.”
Obioma stated that although their goal was to secure three points, they are satisfied with the draw.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, it was a good game, we fought very well and in the end it ended 1-1.
“We thank God for the draw but it’s not what we wanted, we wanted three points but there’s nothing we can do, we just have to keep working and keep fighting until we get what we want.”
