  • 2 cups Cheese (Cheddar, mozzarella, or Italian blend)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (Optional for a lighter version)
  • 1 can Tomato Soup (Homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup Cooked Bacon or Sausage (For non-vegetarians)
  • 1 cup Sautéed Vegetables (Mushrooms, onions, or peppers)
  • to taste Herbs and Spices (Basil or oregano recommended)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting your choice of bread into one-inch cubes and lightly butter the outer sides.
  2. Heat the tomato soup in a medium saucepan for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and layer half of the buttered bread cubes at the bottom.
  4. Pour half of the tomato soup mixture over the bread.
  5. Repeat with remaining bread cubes and pour the rest of the tomato soup mixture.
  6. Sprinkle cheese over the top and preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for approximately 30 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
