It took five tries to crack the code today, so it was a very close shave. Our initial guess was the word swell, which turned both tiles yellow and reduced the pool of possible answers to 123. After the second guess, “pawn,” the odds of guessing the correct answer were 1 in 57. Our third attempt, ‘sharp’,’ reduced that number to just two, but we made an incorrect fourth guess, ‘scrambler’, before the answer became obvious.
