Savory Shrimp Salad Sandwich: A Fresh Twist on Classic Eats


Ingredients

  • 500 g shrimp (Fresh or frozen, peeled and deveined)
  • olive oil (Extra virgin recommended)
  • salt (To taste)
  • pepper (To taste)
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise (Can substitute with Greek yogurt)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (Yellow mustard can be used)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (Can use dried dill in a pinch)
  • 1 tbsp green onion (Finely chopped)
  • 1 stick celery (Finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (Freshly squeezed)
  • 4 pieces hot dog buns (Use your favorite type of bread)
  • mayonnaise (For spreading inside the buns)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add olive oil and half of the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 2 minutes until pink.
  3. Flip the shrimp and cook for another minute, then remove and repeat with the remaining shrimp.
  4. Chop half of the cooked shrimp into medium-sized pieces.
  5. In a bowl, combine all shrimp with mayonnaise, mustard, dill, green onion, celery, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  6. Slice the buns in half and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise inside.
  7. Toast the buns in the same pan, mayonnaise side down, until golden.
  8. Fill the toasted buns with the shrimp mixture and serve.
