Rogers was named the Softball Academy All-America of the Year

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 6, 2023) – Ashley Rogers of Tennessee has been selected as the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Softball Academic All-America® of the Year.

Rogers is a graduate student in kinesiology from Athens, Tenn., with a 4.0 undergraduate and 3.96 graduate GPA. She is a three-time All-SEC first-teamer who was named the 2023 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an Elite 90 Award for the 2023 NCAA Division I Softball Championship. Rogers’ efforts this season helped the Lady Vols earn SEC Softball regular season and championship titles, a Knoxville Regional title and a spot in the Women’s College World Series. This season, Rodgers owned a 20-1 record with a 0.92 ERA in 144 innings with 179 strikeouts and 47 walks. He threw 13 complete games and six shutouts.

In addition to Rogers, seven additional student-athletes from the SEC earned spots on CSC Academic All-American teams. Two of the 10 repeat selections to the Academic All-America® Division I softball team include Alabama’s Montana Fouts and Tennessee’s Kiki Milloy.
