Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spotted in Italy playing six-man friendly amid Chelsea decision

As Chelsea’s relegation continues, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been spotted at an Italian friendly.

The 33-year-old has not featured for Chelsea since coming off the bench in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on January 21.

Aubameyang has been left out of Chelsea’s last four matches as Graham Potter’s side continue to struggle.

Aubameyang also suffered the humiliation of being left out of the Champions League for the knockout stages of the Champions League, a decision which is said to have left him “shocked”.

The former Arsenal striker has been spending time with his family in Italy after being left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad, and footage released on Monday evening showed him taking part in a friendly with brother Will.

Aubameyang was seen in his Chelsea shirt and shorts in a number of Instagram clips as his side looked to be dominating the game.

Aubameyang has struggled since moving to Chelsea from Barcelona last summer, scoring just 3 goals in 17 games.

Los Angeles FC have expressed an interest in signing Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season, but the striker prefers to fight for a starting place at Chelsea.

Asked about Aubameyang’s future at Chelsea last week, Potter insisted the forward still has a future at the club.

“Of course, Pierre is in our team. he is still an important player for us. he worked hard; he understands the situation,” Potter said.

“Nothing is set in stone. his attitude has been excellent. When we go, we will make an assessment.”
