NFF releases Nduka Ugbade | SportsRation

The coach of Nigeria’s under-17 men’s national team, the Golden Eagles, has been sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation after his team failed to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

According to Brilla, the former Golden Eagles captain’s appointment was linked to his team’s progress in the World Cup and failing that, the NFF asked him to step down.

It will be recalled that Nigeria lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso U-17 in the AFCON U-17 quarter-finals, thereby missing out on a World Cup berth and also a semi-final in the ongoing competition in Algeria.

Both Nduka Ugbade and his assistants have reportedly been sacked.

The Golden Eaglets played four games in the AFCON U-17, losing two and winning two.
