After 10 years, the Philippine MICEConference (MICECON) returns to Davao City, where it will showcase the region’s rich culture, stunning natural environment, vast culinary offerings and vibrant hospitality to a global audience. The convention will be held at the SMX Convention Center at SM Lanang Premier March 1-3, 2023 with more than 600 participants from the tourism and business events industry.
MICECON 2023 is the largest gathering of Meetings, Incentive Travel and Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) professionals in the country, bringing together a special mix of local and foreign delegates from the MICE industry to learn about global trends in business meetings. witness the scenic sights of the capital city of the south and invite them for networking opportunities with both local and international MICE experts. This is in partnership with the Davao City Government, Department of Tourism (DOT) and its marketing arm, the Tourism Promotion Board of the Philippines (TPB).
One of the key developments in the business meetings industry is the rise of “fun” or combining business and leisure travel experiences. Davao is a prime example of the country’s entertainment destinations with its diverse cultural and entertainment offerings for business travelers. Davao is home to 11 indigenous tribes and has a growing expatriate population with diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Blessed with pristine beaches, amazing diving spots, abundant flora and fauna, the freshest and highest quality foods and delicious cuisines that tourists crave, Davao City is an ideal vacation destination. It also continues to grow its capacity as a MICE destination with more venues and accommodations for conferences and professionals who exemplify the best of Philippine hospitality, diversity, peace and sustainability.
Corporate social responsibility is always at the heart of MICECON. This year will be at the Philippine Eagle Center in Barangay Malagos, Davao City. In line with the industry’s efforts to emphasize sustainability in its tourism efforts, MICECON delegates will visit the sanctuary in hopes of raising awareness for the conservation of the critically endangered species at the heart of the Philippine Eagles. The center welcomes donations as it continues to expand its care to more animal species and breeding Philippine eagles.
