“Liverpool” must pay 39 million pounds for the 21-year-old defensive target.

Report. Liverpool are set to pay £39m for the 21-year-old defensive target

The Reds have reportedly been tracking the 21-year-old centre-back for some time and are ready to make a move for him this summer, according to a report from A Bola (h/t SportWitness ).

“Sporting CP” defender Goncalo Inacio appeared with “Liverpool”.

Sporting CP are ready to offload the defender in the coming weeks, but they expect the full fee to cover his €45m (£39m) release clause.

The Portuguese company, however, is ready to discuss the payment schedule. They are willing to receive bonuses that are easy to obtain, which can make the transfer easier for the player’s future employers.

Liverpool will need to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer and Inacio would be a quality long-term signing.

The Reds have been quite vulnerable at the back this season, with the likes of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez largely underperforming.

Liverpool should look to improve both players and Inacio has the potential to become a top defender.

The 21-year-old centre-back can also operate as a defensive full-back and his versatility will be an added bonus.

Liverpool certainly have the financial wherewithal to pay the reported €45 million asking price, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach a deal.

Liverpool are unlikely to be the only club interested in signing the 21-year-old this summer and the Reds will need to move quickly to beat off competition from other clubs.
