Lahore Qalandars beat Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets in the second qualifying match of Pakistan Super League 8. They will face Multan Sultans in the final tomorrow.
In PSL 8 Group Two, Peshawar Zalmi set defending champions Lahore Qalandars a target of 172 runs to win thanks to a brilliant half-century from Muhammad Haris, which Lahore Kalandars achieved for the loss of 6 wickets in 18.5 overs.
At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi won the ball and decided to face Lahore Qalandar.
Saim Ayub and Babar Azam opened the innings for Peshawar Zalmi but Saim Ayub was out for a total of 15 for 9 runs. After the first wicket fell early, Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris led their team’s score with Babar Azam scoring 42 runs and it was over. left by Rashid Khan.
Mohammad Haris continued his brilliant batting streak and completed his half century scoring 85 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 11 fours.
Peshawar Zalmi scored 171 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan dismissed Lahore Qalandar for two. Shaheen once again proved to be a valuable bowler and took just one wicket for 41 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, Lahore Qalandar reached the target in 18.5 overs, losing 6 wickets. Mirza Baig’s man scored 54 runs for Lahore. In the latter, Sikandar Raza and captain Shahen Afridi played an important role in the victory of the team.
Sikandar Raza scored 23 runs off 14 balls and Shaheen Afridi was not out scoring 12 runs off 4 balls. For Peshawar, Azmatullah Umarzai took 2 wickets, Wahab Riaz, Aamir Jamal and Salman Irshad took one wicket each.
