In this edition, we get to know Customer Service Concierge Geraldine LamEwen.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Pago Pago America Samoa. When I was 14, our family moved to California to get a better education and also to raise our family. Recently moved here in Vegas in 2017 from the Los Angeles area.
What made you move to Las Vegas?
Lots of reasons, it’s where most of my family lives. I was actually the last one to move. It is very important for me to be close to my family.
What is your favorite part about living in Vegas?
There is always something to do here. They call it the city that never sleeps and now I can attest and I so agree with that. It never sleeps.
What was your first job?
I worked for Sony electronics for many years in customer service.
What is your favorite thing about working at Office1??
The people who create Office1. Teamwork – Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision and the ability to direct individual achievement toward organizational goals.
What’s the biggest project on your to-do list right now?
Right now, managing FM audit alerts that are received on a daily basis and helping to fulfill supply orders as needed for our customers.
What excites you most about technology?
Always changing. Just to find out what’s next. New innovations take technology to another level, no one can predict where technology will take us in the coming years.

Do you have any nicknames and how did you get them?
Everyone calls me Gerry or Gerald, but I like Gerry better.
What are your biggest pet peeves?
Look – It’s impolite and awkward.
What is your favorite quote?
Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal and not hurt.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with family. Family is everything.
Watching or looking forward to watching something?
Looking forward to watching holiday movies on the hallmark movie channel.
What’s one thing your colleagues would be surprised to know about you??
I love helping others anyway I can, but what everyone doesn’t know is that I have a terminator side.
You are referring to the terminator side. What do you mean by that?
yes side of the terminator. I meant the metals on the right side of my brain, luckily I survived my brain aneurysm. I am a survivor.
If you could choose a superpower, which one would you choose?
There are so many. I would say the ability to read minds. If I could read minds, I would know what people are thinking. I’m working on it.
How do you feel about the changes that Covid-19 has brought to your life?
Following CDC guidelines everywhere I go. It took a toll not only physically, but mentally as well. I see the changes affecting not only me but also my partners, especially the children. You have to think positively. By having a positive mindset and supporting each other, we will get through this.
Any recommendations for readers?
If we think positively by taking necessary precautions and staying safe. It is our new normal. Together we will get through this.
