Indulgent Chocolate Waffles Recipe

- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk (whole or buttermilk)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Optional Toppings:
- Whipped cream
- Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
- Chocolate sauce
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter.
- Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the waffle iron (usually 1/2 to 3/4 cup).
- Close the waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the waffles are crisp and cooked through.
- Carefully remove the waffles and place on a plate.
- Top with whipped cream, fresh berries, chocolate sauce, and powdered sugar if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the indulgent chocolate waffles!
