Test players who are part of IPL franchises and have not made the playoffs will be asked to leave early for a two-week preparation camp in the UK to acclimatise. All the fast bowlers who are likely to feature in the Indian Test team for the WTC final will be monitored by the BCCI.
“We will monitor the workload and the bowlers will be given dukki balls during the IPL for practice ahead of the WTC final. Six teams will be out of the IPL by May 21, so we will try to bring those players to UK early,” Rohit said at the post-match press conference in Ahmedabad.
He added: “The lads who will be in the finals are not the lads who haven’t played in the UK. There might be a guy or two here and there, and we’ve all played in that part of the world. I don’t think it will be a big problem. Look, I believe that preparations will be key for us, the final will come.”
