Ever wanted to email your ManyChat subscribers?
Hannes recently asked how to do this in our members-only Facebook group.
That was a great question because it’s extremely valuable to bring your chatbot subscribers into your client’s email platform so you can email them too.
Steven Bradin, a certified Bot Academy graduate and one of our group’s call leaders, stepped in and gave Hannes precise, step-by-step instructions for this process.
We thought you might want to know the answer, too, so here’s a quick how-to.
How to export ManyChat contacts to Google Sheets
Step 1: Sign in to ManyChat and go to Settings > Integrations and click Enable Google Sheets account.
Step 2: Select the account you want to connect and confirm permission.
Step 3: Make sure you’re signed in. Sign in to the Google Account of your choice and create a new Google Sheet. Label the columns in row 1 with the data fields you plan to export from ManyChat.
These are usually first name, last name and email address. mail or full name and e-mail
Step 4: Switch to the flow that contains the user input field for email and create an action step AFTER the user has entered or clicked their email address.
Select Google Sheets Action from the drop-down menu.
Step 5: Google Sheets will now appear in your action list, and you can click Select Action.
Step 6: This will open a popup where you can choose whether you want to send data from Manychat to Google Sheets (Insert Row) or do the opposite and import data from the sheet into a Manychat custom field (Get Row by Value).
For this usage, select Insert Row.
Step 7: Select the table and worksheet/tab name you created. Next, match the ManyChat fields to the columns in your Google Sheet.
That’s it. Now every time someone reaches that point in your feed, their data will automatically be sent to your Google Sheet.
You can then manually import this into the email platform or create an automatic import using Zapier or another third-party tool.
Pretty cool, right?
There is also something cool about Hannes’s question that I didn’t say in the Facebook group.
He posted it at 11:36am and Stefan replied at 11:42am.
That means he had an answer to his question just 6 minutes after posting it.
This is just one example of the time you can save your business when you have a direct line to other bot makers.
