How I beat Covid and you can too.

During the past year and a half, the Corona Virus has taken the lives of all of us and, unfortunately, it is far from over. Clearly, the new variants that continue to develop affect the vaccinated and the unvaccinated. Where I live people are coming down with the virus and it’s hitting closer and closer to home. Actually, the virus entered my house. We were able to get through it quickly and I feel compelled to share my story in hopes that it will give you a sense of positivity that if a virus comes through your home, you too can fight it.

My 15-year-old daughter brought Covid-19 into our home. He and his friends all got it by inadvertently passing it on to each other. On Monday, my daughter felt very tired after a day on the river, but not sick. When he woke up on Tuesday, he was feeling pretty bad. He felt weights on his legs and grew weary. This is when I gave her a quick test and within 15 minutes it was positive. We tried our best to isolate him from everyone, but I still served him food and drink, took his temperature, and gave him supplements. No gloves, no mask.

Before my daughter tested positive for Covid-19, I had heard that a lot of people were suffering from Covid where I live, so I started boosting my immune boosters. I have spent many years learning about the immune system and the various things in nature that help boost the immune system. I want to share with you how we defeated Covid in our home. The tools we used helped my daughter recover from the virus in 3 days and none of us (my 2 daughters, husband and I) were affected by this “highly contagious” virus.

Lemon water

Every morning started with freshly squeezed lemon in water. I would drink lemon water all day long, but drinking lemon water when you wake up has many additional benefits.

  • Hydration
  • High in Vitamin C, a primary antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage. You’ve probably heard that vitamin C can help prevent or limit the duration of illness.
  • Helps your digestive system move
  • Helps maintain the pH balance in the body.
  • Clean internal waste and toxins from the body.

  • Lots of vegetables and fruits. Fermented foods like sauerkraut for gut health (your gut directly affects your immune system)
  • I cut out sugar (suppresses immune system), coffee (dehydrates, depletes vitamin C) and dairy (builds mucus)
  • Bone Broth ~ I used to drink bone broth every day or add it to my soup base or when I made brown rice. I make weekly bone broth with medicinal root vegetables like garlic, onions, turmeric, sweet potatoes, carrots, celery, burdock root, and ginger. I then add my home grown medicinal herbs such as sage, thyme, rosemary, oregano, parsley, all of which are anti-viral, among other benefits. Here’s a recipe to make yourself.
  • Kombucha daily ~ Kombucha can help fight infections. It has acetic acid which has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Probiotics help improve gut health and immune function. To learn more about Kombucha, click HERE.
  • Drink water. Lots and lots of water all day.

We took these every day. When my daughter was on her second day of covid and not feeling great we took them twice a day.

  • Neem Leaf Powder ~ Like Ivermectin, it is antiviral and anti-parasitic. Studies have shown that Neem is powerful in preventing Covid-19 as well as reducing symptoms when they occur.

Sunshine

Sit in the sun and soak up at least 15 minutes of sun a day to ensure vitamin D levels are sufficient for a strong immune system. Vitamin D helps prevent many diseases.

Fever has a long traditional history of use in the prevention and treatment of viruses. We are lucky to have a wonderful sauna where I would go until I was sweating (about 40 minutes). A set of positive thoughts

There is a lot of fear around Covid and getting sick in general. While I can understand why some people are afraid, I can also attest from my own experience that being afraid does nothing positive for your mental health. Tell yourself I’m healthy. I have a strong immune system that can fight and protect me from any disease. I will beat Covid! If you think, feel or say positive affirmations to yourself, that is what you will attract.

Good sleep

Sleep plays a big role in the immune system. Research has shown that sleep is important for the rest of the body, as some components of the immune system grow. Get at least 7-9 hours of sleep to keep our immune system strong

I hope this blog has helped you learn that you can build a strong immune system and beat Covid-19. I am in no way trying to minimize the loved ones that so many have lost. My intention is to move the focus away from fear into the conversation. Instead of focusing on the importance of a healthy immune system and trusting that just as Covid came through my house and we beat it, so can you.
