Last year, Google announced that Google Assistant and Google Calendar reminders were being migrated to a new home inside Google Tasks. Well, that hasn’t changed as Google provides a timeline of what users can expect.
There are three different ways to do this migration based on your Google Account type: A Workspace client, a Google Account through work or school, and a personal Google Account. We highlight the personal account scenario below because it is believed to be the most convenient for our readers.
If you use Google with a personal account:
- You’ll see a message in Assistant and Calendar to move reminders created in these apps to Tasks starting March 6, 2023.
- If you haven’t moved yet, Assistant and Calendar reminders will start moving automatically in Q2. We will share more information on this schedule in future updates on the Workspace Updates blog.
As Google explains, once the migration is complete, users will be able to view and manage all their to-dos in one place. Tasks. This topic is described in detail in the blog. “You’ll be able to use Tasks features like organizing to-dos with multiple lists and adding descriptions for extra organization. Tasks can be accessed on the web in Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Chat, making it easy to create tasks without having to switch between tabs or apps. If you use the Assistant, you’ll also be able to create Tasks directly from the Assistant.”
March 6: Mark your calendars.
