Description

A festive and easy-to-make Gingerbread Trifle featuring layers of ginger cake, gingerbread men, creamy vanilla custard, spiced whipped cream, caramel, and colorful sprinkles. This no-bake dessert is perfect for holiday celebrations and offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 g ginger cake, sliced into 12cm thin slices
  • 250 g gingerbread men
  • 500 g vanilla custard
  • 600 ml double cream
  • 75 g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 350 g caramel
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Slice the ginger cake into thin 1-2cm slices. In a mixing bowl, whip the double cream together with icing sugar and ground ginger until soft peaks form. Gather all other ingredients such as vanilla custard, caramel, gingerbread men, and sprinkles ready for assembling.
  2. Place half of the sliced ginger cake evenly as the bottom layer in the trifle bowl to form the base of the dessert.
  3. Gently press half of the gingerbread men biscuits in a circular pattern around the edge of the trifle bowl, creating an attractive border and additional texture.
  4. Spoon half of the vanilla custard evenly over the ginger cake and biscuits, followed by half of the ginger-spiced whipped cream. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the cream layer for added richness.
  5. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ginger cake, gingerbread men, custard, whipped cream, and caramel to build the trifle up in the bowl.
  6. Finish by sprinkling gingerbread crumbs and colorful sprinkles on top to add festive decoration and a touch of crunch.
