Description
Garlic Butter Steak Skillet Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice, cut into strips)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the steak strips dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned steak strips in a single layer.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes without moving them, allowing a nice crust to form. Flip the steak strips and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter, minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Sauté for about 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the cooked steak back to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
