The four suspected terrorists were charged by the Directorate of Public Services in Isabho State, Abeokuta, before an Ogun State Chief Magistrate’s Court.
On December 9, 2022, the suspects (Aliu Abubakar, Abubakar Usman, Abubakar Amadu and Adamu Aliu) were detained.
In the case filed by the state against Aliyu Abubakar and three others in case MISC/15/2023, the defendants were arraigned on charges of terrorism and kidnapping on Wednesday.
Prosecution lawyer Emmanuel Zamba informed the court that DSS filed an ex parte motion on the claim on March 15.
He noted that the submitted request, which includes a five-paragraph document, sought a court order to remand the suspects in state prison custody.
The alleged offenses, according to Zamba, contravene sections 2 and 3 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022.
