Easy Dump And Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole Recipe


Ingredients

  • Chicken Breasts
  • Pasta (penne or rotini)
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko)
  • Fresh Basil (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Water (about 2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grab a large baking dish (about 9×13 inches) and spray it lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Spread the uncooked pasta evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Place the chicken breasts on top of the pasta. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. Evenly pour the marinara sauce over the chicken and pasta. Use a spoon to gently push the sauce down into the pasta.
  6. Pour in about 2 cups of water around the edges of the dish.
  7. Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheese generously over the top.
  8. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the cheese.
  9. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  10. After 35 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  11. Let the casserole sit for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
