Easy Dump And Bake Chicken Parmesan Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
- Chicken Breasts
- Pasta (penne or rotini)
- Marinara Sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Italian Seasoning
- Breadcrumbs (Italian-style or panko)
- Fresh Basil (optional)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Water (about 2 cups)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grab a large baking dish (about 9×13 inches) and spray it lightly with cooking spray.
- Spread the uncooked pasta evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
- Place the chicken breasts on top of the pasta. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Evenly pour the marinara sauce over the chicken and pasta. Use a spoon to gently push the sauce down into the pasta.
- Pour in about 2 cups of water around the edges of the dish.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheese generously over the top.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the cheese.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.
- After 35 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the casserole sit for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
