Description

Creamy Garlic Shrimp Skillet is a flavorful dish featuring succulent shrimp in a rich garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or white wine)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth (or white wine) and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and stir to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until heated through.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with pasta or rice.
