Description

Cream Cheese Poppers are a delicious appetizer filled with a creamy cheese mixture and wrapped in dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 package (8 oz) low-carb crescent dough (or fathead dough)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. If using low-carb crescent dough, unroll it and separate it into triangles. If using fathead dough, roll it out into a flat sheet and cut into small squares.
  4. Place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each dough triangle or in the center of each square.
  5. Roll the dough around the filling, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Arrange the filled poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish (optional).
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • These poppers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
  • Feel free to add more spices to the cheese mixture for extra flavor.
