Description
Cream Cheese Poppers are a delicious appetizer filled with a creamy cheese mixture and wrapped in dough.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1 package (8 oz) low-carb crescent dough (or fathead dough)
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- If using low-carb crescent dough, unroll it and separate it into triangles. If using fathead dough, roll it out into a flat sheet and cut into small squares.
- Place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each dough triangle or in the center of each square.
- Roll the dough around the filling, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Arrange the filled poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish (optional).
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- These poppers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
