Description
Coconut Dome with Chocolate is a delightful dessert featuring a creamy coconut filling encased in a rich chocolate shell.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (or heavy cream)
- 8 oz dark chocolate (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother finish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and coconut milk. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Using your hands, form the coconut mixture into dome shapes or balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the coconut domes in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly before using.
- Dip each coconut dome into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are completely coated. Use a fork to lift them out.
- Place the chocolate-coated domes back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the chocolate-coated domes for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has set.
- Optionally, drizzle with additional melted chocolate or sprinkle with extra shredded coconut before serving.
- Serve chilled and enjoy.
Notes
- Use a silicone mold for perfectly shaped domes.
- Adjust sweetness by using more or less powdered sugar.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
