Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites on medium speed until foamy (about 2 minutes).
- Add cream of tartar and continue whisking until soft peaks form.
- Increase the mixer speed to high and gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time, whipping until stiff, glossy peaks form.
- Gently fold in vanilla extract and green food coloring until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a piping bag with a large star tip and pipe tree shapes.
- Bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes without opening the oven door until completely dry and crisp.
- Turn off the oven, leave the door slightly open, and let the meringues cool for 30 minutes before removing.
