Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Colorful candy melts for decoration
  • Sprinkles and mini bows for embellishment

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add sugar, whisk until smooth, then integrate eggs and vanilla extract until thick and glossy.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold this into the wet mixture carefully.
  5. If desired, fold in chocolate chips for extra gooeyness.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Once cooled, cut into squares, decorate with melted candy melts, and add sprinkles or bows.
