A festive cake blending the flavors of holiday cookies, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Measure and prepare all ingredients to ensure a smooth process.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, incorporating them fully before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix these dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips or nuts gently.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For added depth, incorporate spices or citrus zest. Let your cake cool completely before frosting to avoid melting.
