Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. Melt 3/4 cup butter over low heat in a saucepan, then stir in brown sugar, melted chocolate, eggs, and 3 tsp vanilla until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Don’t overmix.
  4. Fold in chopped cherries evenly.
  5. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
