Description
Cherry Bourbon Extract Balls are delightful treats that combine the rich, sweet notes of cherry with the warmth of bourbon flavor, all without any alcohol. These chewy, buttery bites are perfect for sharing or gifting.
Ingredients
- Fresh or frozen cherries
- Bourbon extract or non-alcoholic vanilla extract
- Unsalted butter or coconut oil/vegan butter
- Powdered sugar or sugar substitute like erythritol
- Graham cracker crumbs or crushed digestive biscuits/gluten-free alternative
- Chopped pecans or walnuts or sunflower seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Cherries: If using fresh cherries, pit and chop them finely. For frozen cherries, thaw them and ensure they are well-drained to avoid excess moisture.
- Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped cherries, softened butter, and bourbon extract (or your non-alcoholic alternative). Stir until well mixed.
- Add the Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs. The mixture should start to come together as a thick dough.
- Incorporate Nuts: Gently fold in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Shape the Balls: Using your hands, scoop out small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the Balls: Once all the balls are formed, refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
- Coat (Optional): If you’d like, you can roll the chilled balls in additional powdered sugar or crushed nuts for an extra touch before serving.
