Ingredients

3 medium apples, peeled and diced

1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped

1/3 cup sweet red grape juice

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


Instructions

  1. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Let cool and then chop.
  2. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small pieces.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples and chopped toasted walnuts.
  4. Add the sweet red wine, honey, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight) to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Stir before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Reheat gently on stovetop for best results.
