Ingredients

  • 1 kg Pork Belly
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Score the skin of the pork belly in a crisscross pattern and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the pork belly skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden.
  4. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and a splash of water until sugar dissolves.
  5. Pour the glaze over the seared pork belly in the skillet and roast in the oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  6. Let the pork belly rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
