BCCI is likely to sign Adidas as the apparel sponsor of the Indian cricket team | XtraTime:

Xtra Time Web Desk. Sports goods giants Adidas is set to sign a multi-year deal with the BCCI as the apparel sponsor of the Indian cricket team. According to reports, Adidas will act as the jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team from June 01. Rohit Sharma and his team will wear the new Adidas jersey if they qualify for the final of the World Test Championship to be held at The Oval from 07-11 June. .

Currently, Killer Jeans is the jersey sponsor of the Indian team after it took over the rights from MPL Sports. But BCCI is trying to invest in a popular brand associated with the sport.

MPL Sports (Mobile Premier League), which has been the apparel sponsor since 2016, has pulled out before the contract expires. BCCI approached Killer Jeans to come on board during the Bangladesh series.

BCCI roped in KKCL’s Killer Jeans as the new apparel sponsor. Since most of the cricketers are sponsored by big sports brands like Nike, Adidas or Puma, it has not added any value. So BCCI started talks with Adidas.

Adidas is associated with IPL franchise Mumbai Indians and England Cricket Team. Team India captain Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant are also sponsored by Adidas.
