Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine mashed banana, brown sugar, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to simmer.
  2. Let simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Add vanilla and optional spices during the last minute.
  3. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove banana pulp.
