And just like that, Google has released Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 for Pixel phones. Time to try new things if that’s your thing.
Earlier today we saw the pieces move, and now Google has made available both the stock image and OTA files for Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1. To get into this first QPR3 build, you’ll need a Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel. 5a, Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, Pixel 6a or Pixel 7 or 7 Pro.
As for the news, we’ll be diving in to find out soon. Google hasn’t provided its own list of changes, so we have to update and choose the UI ourselves. There might not be anything major, or we might find some fun stuff that works. Give us a few minutes.
If you missed our earlier post on QPR (Quarterly Platform Release) builds, just know that these updates are important because they are released quarterly, often larger than the usual monthly updates, and try to fix or improve current all kinds of fields. Android version which is Android 13. Google is now letting us test them before the stable release (this one is coming in June) because they’re a big deal that can be improved over the course of several beta releases as many of us test things.

Below we have links to the factory image and OTA files for people to update the old school way, but you don’t need to go that route to update. In fact, you should probably go that route if you’re not experienced in the field. You can always sign up for the Android Beta Program (here) and receive updates over the air that way. For those who prefer to avoid the command line and adb commands, do so. Google should start the update soon through the Android Beta program.
