DOTAN, Ala. (WDHN) – Dothan Police have identified the inmates responsible for an attack at the Dothan City Jail over the weekend.
According to Dothan police, one of the inmates, Tariq Tramon Hawkins, got into an argument with the unidentified victim, and another inmate, Zyshawn Kodaun Coker, allegedly gave Hawkins a weapon, who then assaulted the victim.
Police say the improvised weapon was a plastic toothbrush handle that had been sharpened to a point.
Another inmate, Romilo Jamal Porter, tried to hide the weapon in his cell, but police found it during a search.



All three now face felony charges and have been booked into the Houston County Jail without bond.
Tariq Hawkins was charged with second-degree assault and one count of promoting prison contraband.
Zayshawn Coker, 21, was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband. Romilo Porter, 27, faces the same charge.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening facial injuries. He is reported to make a full recovery.
Dothan police investigated the case.
