Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons light brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
  • Green onions (thinly sliced, optional for garnishing)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Add teriyaki sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to a bowl and stir to create a marinade.
  2. Add diced chicken to the marinade, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
  3. Drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil over the air fryer basket or spray with cooking spray.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 385F if required.
  5. Add chicken to the air fryer in an even layer, discarding excess marinade.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway, until the chicken reaches 165F.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
