Description

Irresistible Air Fryer Broccoli Cheddar Poppers that are quick to make and family-approved.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 egg (or flax egg)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil spray for cooking

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop broccoli into small florets. Pulse briefly in a food processor until pieces are small but not mushy.
  2. In a bowl, combine broccoli, cheddar, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Stir until cohesive.
  3. Scoop and shape into 1-1.5 inch balls or small patties.
  4. Chill formed poppers in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease the basket.
  6. Arrange poppers in a single layer and air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Remove and let cool slightly before serving with your choice of dipping sauces.

Notes

For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes. For a vegan option, replace egg with flax egg and use vegan cheese.
