Afternic Releases Lead Center Beta

Afternic, GoDaddy’s aftermarket platform, remains one of the most popular and consistent places to sell domains, thanks in part to the constant activity of the company’s brokerage team behind the scenes.

One of the most requested features by Afternic users has been greater transparency and communication between the company’s brokers and domain name sellers.

Today, Afternic announced a feature that will enable sellers and brokers to interact: the Lead Hub.

What is the lead center?

The Lead Center, available through the Afternic 2.0 Beta program, is the focal point of interaction between domain sellers and GoDaddy’s brokerage team.

When a sales lead arrives at Afternic via a landing page, registrant, or phone, the broker begins working to convert that lead into a sale.

In the past, domain sellers had to rely on email communication with brokers. Information about a lead’s status, last offer, or even the origin of the lead was not easy to obtain.

Now, with the Lead Center, sellers have a dedicated section to see all incoming inquiries and offers that Afternic brokers are working on.

Sellers will also be able to communicate with brokers, discover the status of each inquiry and see what action your broker has taken to date.

In short, the lead center is where you can chat with your broker, accept incoming offers, submit counters, update prices, and more.

For both casual and regular Afternic sellers, it will be an important part of the platform.

Six features of a leadership center

To access the Leadership Center, visit the Afternic 2.0 Beta Dashboard. There is a link to the leaderboard from the menu on the left. Here are six notable features of Afternic’s new flagship center.

1. Overview of the Center of Excellence

Leading center console

When you first open the Lead Center, you’ll be greeted with a simple dashboard that will highlight any leads that need your action. The data table will fill up as brokers start working on the seller’s inbound leads.

Meanwhile, a series of links at the top of the page allow you to quickly navigate between leads at different stages, from those that require your attention to leads that have converted to sales.

The three most important links for sellers are:

  • Needs attention. if the broker needs the seller to accept or reverse the offer, for example, the lead will be listed under the “needs attention” tab.
  • Featured – each lead in the lead panel has a heart icon next to it. Clicking this will add the lead to the favorites tab where you can easily follow the lead.
  • They are in progress. these are leads that brokers are actively working on that may need your attention in the future.

2. Broker Activity Dashboard

Broker Activity Dashboard

If your dashboard already contains inbound contact information, you can click the lead’s domain name on the left.

Here are the main features of the Lead Center. From this page you can see the latest updates from your leading broker.

From lead qualification to sharing the latest offers, the brokerage activity dashboard offers transparency and quick communication between seller and broker.

On the right side of the broker activity dashboard is a lead overview section that provides quick, basic information about a lead’s status.

3. Message the broker

Within the broker activity dashboard, sellers have the ability to quickly communicate with their broker by clicking the “message broker” button. After sending a message to the broker, all communications between the seller and the broker will be displayed in the broker’s activity dashboard.

4. Set your price

If a domain name gets an inquiry and it doesn’t have a list price or a low price, the broker will ask the seller to update this pricing so the broker has parameters to work with.

Fortunately, updating the list price or floor price can be done from the brokers activity dashboard.

Updating the list or floor price here will also update your Afternic listing price.

5. Accept or reject

When a broker makes an offer to a seller, there are two options. accept or decline the offer. As you can see from the screenshot above, it’s easy to take action on a broker activity dashboard offer.

Along with accepting or rejecting the offer, the seller has the option to send a message to the broker.

6. Adjustable columns

As with other parts of Afternic 2.0, you can change your workspace by customizing the columns you see.

By clicking “Edit Columns” on the right side of the lead center, you can add “Proposal” and “Assigned” data columns.

These two columns can give you a quick overview of the leads that contain a qualified offer and show you the broker handling your lead.

How much influence does the broker have?

Inbound connections from Afternic’s nameservers ns3.afternic.com and ns4.afternic.com are sent directly to GoDaddy’s broker team, but does the broker have any impact on the domain’s ability to sell?

Afternic data shows that company brokers have a positive impact on lead conversion rates. Above, for example, we can see that Dan.com’s lead conversion has increased dramatically under Afternic’s broker management in September 2022.
